Warm coats,
anecdotes about the rain,
(bad) journalists all need somebody to blame,
and so they do, it’s nothing new
Fairtrade Organic, Green Tea reverie,
a stamp in coffee shop maintains your loyalty,
the loyalty of your heart lies somewhere else.
Velvet hair ties, days spent rolling vacant eyes.
That Bachelors (BA) in patience comes as no surprise.
Dreams of days spent overseas,
in favourite whitewash dungarees.
Museum gift shops, shoes squeak in the the winter,
library entrance don’t speak when you enter,
the soup burns your lips in restaurant by the hall.
Daughters of ardor, literate beyond degrees,
the hearts that they harbour, clad with shirts and dungarees,
never let it to go to waste, tombs of angst awash with taste,
and learning, could never be wrong.

Heart to heart, quiet soul,
give feelings lost a new home.
Side by side, no control,
lost for words, last to know.
Softly spoken, all alone,
eyes fixed to the ground when nothing's wrong,
ties that bind, thought to be strong,
hardly forgotten when they're gone.
Although I sometimes fold in two,
eyes closed hoping,
I know the signs of distance too,
a thin disguise for someone new.
Eye to eye, with future told,
Give anxious thoughts a new home,
So hide and hold on to the words you say,
letters ripped up and kept that way.
Quiet voices, keep you from,
make sense of the place where you belong.
'the right amount of hope struggles,
so you can cope when they're gone.
Although I sometimes fold in two,
eyes closed hoping,
I know the signs of distance too,
a thin disguise for someone new.
